Blues

The colour of the sky and his eyes
Ocean endless to the horizon
Forget me nots and sapphires
The saddest music in the world
Bruises on her upper arm

Regret for all the words
said and unsaid.

It does give me an image. Have you read "Love After Love" by Derek Walcott? It reminds me of what you're working toward in that he creates such a powerful image along with a narrative. Check it out. I would be shocked if you didn't like it.

Hi there, thanks for the comments. Bgfay - no I've not read Walcott's Love after Love - I'll look out for it and add it to my vast pile of books yet to read.....
