Proving Love

1. Proof of the Impossibility of Love

Let x represent me
Let y represent a beautiful stranger

If x and y
show infinite attraction
but travel on parallel lines
then they will never meet
and their spark will never
become fire.

2. The Impossibility of a Mathematical Proof for Love

I don’t know the mathematics of love,
have never measured the angular
vector of desires, used geometry
to prove my passion or yours.

The way to our happy place
lies beyond numbers
as we break free of gravity
in the only necessary proof of love.

Your Partner must tell you while you watch your Rabbit nibble, you're one a long time coming.

I am not too Devout, yet a Parallel in the Torah is between at least two people and has lasted how long now... Parallel's may not cross lines, but they can blur them into a new... one. A couple does look alike after so long...

Juliet Wilson and Partner, have you ever heard of ArcanumCafe, which can be reached at http://a.wordhigh.com

I really like them both. Do I have to choose?

Mine.

I like them both. The lines that never cross but seem so close.

I wrote something similar this week.

Even before seeing #2, I'd agree with that. I particularly like "as we break free of gravity/in the only necessary proof of love."

I like those two too. I love math poems.

You know, I barely managed to scramble together one entry this week and you've created 3 lovely and perfect poems.

I'm mildly envious, but only in the best way.

The impossibility of love poem strikes a chord in me in particular. I love it.

I just love this poem too! Esp.:

"Let x represent me
Let y represent a beautiful stranger

If x and y
show infinite attraction
but travel on parallel lines
then they will never meet"

The first two lines of the poem are those parallell lines of which you speak - so wonderful.

Everyone - thanks for all your comments!

clapping hands... these are fantastic, but I'm a dreamer and a hopeless romantic and any connection with love sounds good to me...

I really liked your this...your use of mathematical words worked really well.

Wow! You wrote three really great poems this week. Where do you find the time?
