Thanks for your comments. Edinburgh isn't flooded, for those of you who wondered. We've been really lucky given what is happening in England and even parts of Scotland.
Funny I don't often drink coffee, but mugs of coffee are somehow more comforting than cups of tea.
These are great. Concrete and real. I feel that comfort that takes a practical form (like a hug or a mug) is more helpful than words, which can fall so short.

Seeing the images of the flooding in England brings home the personal side of your haiku.
Really nice. Hugs and mugs of coffee have amazing comfort -- they are so simple yet incredibly warm and enveloping.
Hugs and mugs, very comforting combo. :-)
i remember a flood and the comfort provided by a hot cup of coffee and there is nothing better than a hug ... love these pieces of warmth .. xox
I hope you are safe where you are... nothing beats a hug, for sure!
Beautiful. Both convey such wonderful images of comfort against a picture of sadness.

There are many ways to comfort. Nice tribute.
I like how you tied your observations to current events.

I like the simplicity and the directness of both. The mugs of coffee really rings true for me.
Comfort, hope. Great reflections...
