Dean Village Bridge

This is a bridge across the Water of Leith in Dean Village. It was built more or less at the point where the original ford crossed the river when Dean Village was first established as a settlement. You can see more of my photos of Dean Village on this blog here (and that post itself includes more links if you're really interested!).

I posted a photo of another bridge across the Water of Leith today over on Crafty Green Poet. You can see that here.

I like how the 'X' on the railing is repeated several times on the balcony and the other buildings

Such a nice bridge and the design of the metal on the sides is so interesting...very appealing to the eye of the viewer. It looks to be in fine condition. Lovely photo.

Nice shot of this metal bridge in a pretty town setting. Seeing that guard rail at the start on the far left, I wonder if you weren't supposed to be there to take it!?

Francesca - don't worry, there's a path down that you can't see in the photo! I'm not the kind of person to climb over railings to get to the waters edge!

Haha... Juliet, no worries here. I'd be right down there, path or not!
