Subjunctive

Doubt, possibility, uncertainty
if things were different
conjugating the possible
dreams, fears, hopes

and if it were so
what then?

Hi Crafty! Thought provoking and clever! I like the way you used the grammar terms and explored "if things were different". And the open-ended question at the end was really powerful.

pauls - a thought knot of sweet complexity - wonderful line of poetry in itself!

Clare - the poem came out of trying to learn the subjunctive mood in Italian and french. Grammar is the key!

Daisies - thanks!
