Ghost

You are a ghost in my memory
a wraith in my thoughts
a breeze in my hair
as I walk down the street

you're a floater that's not
quite blurring my vision
tinnitus that blunts
the edge of my hearing

you stalk my days
and haunt my nights
I'm not scared of ghosts
so what do i fear?

a quick scribble about ghosts for Sunday Scribblings
there are ghosts in some of my poems over on Crafty Green Poet too, you can read them by following the links below:

Cool, lovely walking rhythm and the poem is flirting with meaning just as it describes, aesthetic unity, yayayay

Especially loved the image of a wraith ~ fleeting wisp-like!

I love the way you place this just out of reality - just interfering enough to be aware of.

Somehow making your ghost hover just on the fringes of your consciousness makes it more real than a full-bodied spectre we could easily see.

What popped out at me is the use of the lower case "i" in the last line. It's sort of like the self is diminished by the fear.

Great!

Intimations of mortality? My ghosts are wraith-like too.

this verse really captured me in an enchanted sort of a way - the rhythm was soothing --- yet the image at the end a little unsettling - much enjoyed!!!

Hi Juliet, I have not seen you in awhile but I always think of you when I hear another new bird call.

Beautiful poem that uses very cool words to express the mystery of our fears.

Happy Sunday!

That's a very good question! Now I'm as puzzled as you are, but perhaps less haunted ;)

tinnitus is always so unnerving. You capture the uneasiness well!

Lovely, unexpected images and connections here and in your "Lost Dance of Cranes".

great work,...i absolutely love the pacing of this piece. it flows, and shakes, timidly yet powerfully moving ever forward.
