der volle Mond -
ein frisch gebackenes
weißes Brötchen.

the full moon -
a fresh-baked
white bread roll.

(evening barbeque at the Nickern Jugendbauernhof, Dresden)

Thanks to Angelika for correcting my German. You can read more about my trip to Dresden on Crafty Green Poet here and here and more to come!

I can only comment on the English but I think it's a great haiku.

What nathan said. My German is too unGerman. The English hits the spot, though.

This one made me laugh, Juliet. I have a German cookbook, and lots of recipes call for a white bread roll. I have never seen anything like that.

I like this haiku, Juliet!

may I offer a bit help for the German version?...

for line 2 I suggest:

ein frisch gebackenes

best wishes,
Angelika
